What exactly is included in the rental price at Malaga U Drive

The price includes accident and theft insurance with a minimum excess, mandatory third party liability insurance, VAT, unlimited kilometers, exterior car wash and delivery and pick-up at a specified and previously confirmed location. The excess at Malaga U Drive is several times lower than at competing companies and amounts to 300 Euros for Compact, Economy and Full Size groups and 500 Euros for other groups. It is charged only in case of an accident or vehicle theft.

What the rental price does not include at Malaga U Drive

Additional waivers of liability for (scratches, damaged mirrors, tires and windows which are also subject to excess), interior cleaning, navigation, child seats. Each client is responsible for returning the car clean inside. There is no need to wash the exterior (included in the price).

Do you profit from fuel?

Many car rental companies operating at Malaga airport charge a fee of several dozen euros for the mere possibility of receiving the vehicle full and returning it full. This is referred to as a “fuel fee”.

To rent a car in Malaga please contact us by phone, email or make an online reservation (our contact details are available in the CONTACT section). Our staff will confirm the time and place of vehicle pick-up with you. Our representative will wait for you punctually at the agreed location and formalities will take less than 10 minutes. After signing the rental documents we will take you to the vehicle and explain the most important details such as fuel type, usage tips, etc.

For the reservation you need an ID card or passport and a driving license. We do not collect a deposit, nor do we block a credit card.

Our staff will explain in detail how to return the vehicle when signing the documents. Please follow their instructions.

In many cases (only clients of companies cooperating with Malaga U Drive) we can carry out so-called immediate rental; in this case formalities will be minimal and you will receive the keys, for example, at the hotel reception. The contract will be prepared by email and phone, and the car will be available for collection at the indicated location. The contract is binding after phone confirmation and key collection.

My plane lands at 2:30 a.m., is it possible to rent a car at Malaga airport so late?

We rent cars at Malaga airport 24 hours a day after prior confirmation with the Customer Service Office. Between 22:00 and 07:00 we charge an additional fee of 30 Euros.

My car broke down / I had an accident, what should I do?

Please prepare the exact address where you are located and contact customer service at +34 602-865-541. Our staff will try to help you by phone; if that is not possible we will send roadside assistance, and we will also arrange transport to your hotel/apartment. If possible, we will come to you and replace the car.

If I have complaints about your services, where can I file a complaint?

First, please contact the central manager who is obliged to resolve your complaint. Additionally, please contact us by email at bookings@malagaudrive.com or by traditional mail to C/Rocio Jurado 33, CP 29620 Torremolinos Malaga, Spain. We will respond within 30 days. At the same time we want to emphasize that we will do our best to prevent such a situation.

When renting cars in Malaga do you comply with provisions regarding the use and protection of personal data and so-called “cookies”?

We collect personal data only when the Client voluntarily provides it during the vehicle rental process or when booking online.
Data provided by you without special consent is used exclusively to fulfill the order and process fines, as required by Spanish law under Act 15/1999 on the Protection of Personal Data and subsequent changes, commonly referred to as ''GDPR''.
After the contract execution process is completed and full payment is made, client data is not used and is deleted after the periods established in the tax and commercial law of the Kingdom of Spain unless you have given explicit consent for further use of such data. I scratched the car during the rental, how much will it cost?

In such cases we will charge you the repair cost according to market repair price lists. On the internet and other media you can find many reports of leading companies using their position for unfair practices. Malaga U Drive values damage at exactly the amount required to repair it based on a cost estimate issued by a service center. Honesty is our core value. We do not profit from such cases. However, for your comfort we recommend opting for the waiver of liability for scratches, damaged mirrors, windows, etc.

Do you have new cars?

A large portion of our vehicles are a few years old. We also have completely new cars. However, we do not guarantee the vehicle age as we work with a large fleet of cars of various ages. We do guarantee that our cars are in excellent technical and visual condition; we pay special attention to:
-The safety of our vehicles (condition of tires, brakes, fluids) and regular inspections at state service stations.
-Reliability (most of our vehicles are Japanese and Korean cars with 5 and 7 year manufacturer warranties, known for reliability). Additionally we offer 24-hour roadside assistance.
For the most demanding clients seeking new cars we recommend using the most expensive international rental companies, which especially at the beginning of the year have such vehicles available.

I had a minor accident/crash. What costs will I bear?

In case of an accident or theft during a car rental in Malaga, the client bears only the insurance excess which is 300 Euros for Compact, Economy and Full Size groups and 500 Euros for other groups. The excess cost is several times lower than at competing companies. If you chose the additional “waiver of liability” you do not bear any additional cost related to theft or accident.

I would like to cancel my rental with Malaga U Drive, how do I do that?

If you wish to cancel or make changes to the reservation please contact us at bookings@malagaudrive.com or by phone: 0034 602-865-541. The minimum period before closing the reservation is 96 hours (4 days). For reservations over 400 euros a 20% prepayment to our account is required. In case of closing the reservation the prepayment is non-refundable.

When renting a car with Malaga U Drive will I receive exactly the vehicle I ordered?

We work with different car groups like any car rental in Malaga and we do not guarantee a specific model. If your reservation is confirmed, you will receive a car from the chosen group or a vehicle from a higher group at no extra cost. In case of unavailability of 8-seater cars we will replace with two vehicles at no additional cost.

I am decided on renting with Malaga U Drive. What is the minimum driver age?

The minimum driver age is 25 years, and the driver must have held a driving license for at least 3 years.

I sent a reservation — will I get the chosen vehicle?

You will receive an email asking you to wait for confirmation (at this moment we check vehicle availability, which usually takes up to 48 hours) and a second email with confirmation or rejection of the reservation or information about which cars are available for the chosen date. If you have not received confirmation and there is little time left until the rental, please contact us by phone.

What is the latest I should make a reservation to rent a car with Malaga U Drive?

The minimum period before renting a car is 24 to 48 hours. However, even in such cases we ask you to call and confirm details by phone. If the car is needed “right away” please also call. If you did not receive confirmation information, the reservation will not be processed. Please call to ensure the car will be available for you.

What is the minimum rental period in Malaga and surrounding areas?

The minimum rental period is 3 days. Sometimes we can make exceptions from this rule, but the pick-up location must be close to our office (Torremolinos). Otherwise the rental will incur additional delivery costs.

We are interested in renting a car in Malaga but traveling in a larger group. How many additional drivers can you add?

The maximum number of drivers per single rental is 3 people.

I am interested in renting a car in Malaga. I am traveling with a child. Will the ordered child seat already be installed in the car?

No car rental company rents a car with an installed child seat. Installing child seats is contractually prohibited by car insurers. The child seat must be installed by the renter of the vehicle.

If someone from Europ is wondering whether it is worth it, I will honestly say there is no better solution than renting a vehicle from Malagaudrive! Great service, no hidden fees, transparent rental rules and above all service in your native language! Mr. Andrzej gave us peace of mind during the rental which is what matters on vacation! If it comes to the vehicle, don’t take a “tiny car” for trips because the terrain is mountainous. We took a Fiat Tipo because there were no smaller ones, and we don’t regret it. The perfect car for the route and we went Torrox-Malaga-Gibraltar-Zahara by the ocean-Ronda and back to Malaga. The car was clean and well maintained. When returning the car Mr. Andrzej was courteous enough to take us to the station to return the vehicle and transfer to public transport. Highly recommended!

I used their car for 5 days. I was supposed to get a Skoda Fabia, but I received a 100% functional and dynamic Honda Civic. Great, as it handled itself well in the city, in the mountains and on the highway. I paid 255 euros with full insurance. Not taking this option in Spain is Russian roulette, because despite safe driving parking damage can easily happen not of your own fault. For that money a family of three can go on one trip to Gibraltar for example with TUI, and we were in Gibraltar, Puerto Puntas, Marbella, Malaga, Granada, Motril, Frigiliana, Ronda, Setenil de las Bodegas. The tips from MalagaUDrive about parking and speed were priceless. In Spain you drive very lawfully and do not park anywhere.
